This has been a wild week. After a week of hurricane preparation, and spending the day yesterday booking a hotel twice just to cancel it twice, we stayed at home for the hurricane. We went to bed knowing that the hurricane was a category 2. It was upgraded to a category 3 overnight! I even cranked down the AC, had a cooler with ice set, and several devices had a full charge. I was ready for a power outage (and I didn't want to dish out the money for a generator). Somehow, our power flickered but didn't go out completely. I think we might have had two power surges. I spent some quality time with my family too! But... at the same time I was watching the weather channel all day, waiting for a tornado warning.
We made it out alive and I'm happy about it! Gotta say though... I think next time we will just evacuate. It was stressful to watch the weather channel and Twitter feeds for the past 3 days. I feel like it also robbed me of a good labor day weekend. Oh well! All is good and the family is safe. Hoping to have a better weekend this weekend!
Also, speaking of outages, this site was down for about 3 or 4 days due to issues with my hosting provider for this web application. :\
Who else is ready for the season??? Ravens are looking great right now. I still worry about the WR position, and I am in the minority when I say that the Browns are going to be terrible this year!
Just wanted to write a quick blurb on here since I haven't for a while. My daughter is about 1 1/2 years old and at the point where she is saying some small phrases. As she was going upstairs for bed, she told me that she loved me after I told my son the same thing. It warmed my heart :). In terms of site news, I haven't been actively working on the site as of late, but I'm hoping that I will have some blog posts up soon.
I just recently came back into town from the Epicenter music festival up in Rockingham, NC. It was a good time! But I did learn to never eat seafood at the festivals. Lately I've been working on making some blog improvements, and those changes are taking a little longer than expected. I also bought dylanhoustonblog.com and rooktraders.com I definitely have some projects to get working on! I plan on posting some pictures from the Epiccenter festival soon. I'm also hoping that some of the changes I am making to the blog system will help expedite the opening of the "photos" page on the site. I'm off to go play Anthem now... hopefully it's a good game! Until next time!
I have had a pretty chaotic week! This is pretty much the summary of it:
I'm working on making the blog/news systems more dynamic in some of the spare time that I have had. But really, I am just working on keeping afloat this week!
I'm super happy about the Ravens draft though! I'll have to post my thoughts on that later on.
